do.

.

so.

.

so.

.

yep we'll get the preliminaries over for first rows uh now i should have you guys figured out you're.

You're anna yes i am and you're beatrice that was yesterday that was yesterday i can't help it i never was going to call in names and remembering names so anyway my name is jim mishlock i'll be your referee i'll call the kitchen and foot pulse all the rest of the lines.

Loud clear and timely format is the scold metal match formats two out of three to eleven win by two and if we get to the third game we change it six uh anna one or two i know they've got two cards in here four one.

So one what are you going to do take what do you want and beatrice serving one and three and the other one's serving two and then check your oh which side do you want i'm gonna take my left.

No i got the mic on so i can't say okay that's it you have three minutes warm up so.

Um sorry so oh okay one minute they haven't started yet we're 30 seconds away from starting you want me to do a color.

You'll need another mic for you 15 seconds at this time i'm going to take a moment to extend sincere appreciation to our funding partnerships all right folks we're ready to start our first broadcast of the day court two gold medal match.

Pamela and rose are coming in on the winter side first game 211 win by two zero zero two just introducing the players in the far court you've got rose swaski and pam clark i'd describe what they're wearing but they're both wearing the same thing so i'm just going to say that ham's the one.

Wearing the knee brace and in the foreground we've got ana diachenko taller of the two ladies wearing a kind of a black headband and beatrice zero zero one they're both from regina pam clark's from regina with the knee brace again.

And rosawaski's from morton manitoba our referee jim mitchellock who's from winnipeg manitoba second server some good competition here they're uh fairly equally matched zero zero two and rose actually beat anna and beatrice in the ron robin the round robin.

Competition side out but it did go to three games as well so so we could be in for a barn burner i know they're 01. ladies exceptional pickleball skills second server away by rose beatrice almost got it but a little bit zero zero side out.

What you're gonna see when you watch this game is all four players have tremendous soft skills but zero zero one up a couple inches high they know how to put it away as well second server nice drive by pam but anna was there and equal to the task probably the hardest hitting one of the four is zero zero two.

I think anna's right up there too i mean both of them hit harder than most of the men you and i play against side out pam's got that badminton background zero zero one she thinks she's got some she's got some form of uh racket sport background for sure yeah obviously better person i'd probably say.

Tennis but circumserver they're all really good athletes and if you're a really good athlete zero zero two one on the rocket sports it doesn't take you long to start excelling at oh well there's there's a friendly side out nice break for point tom clark and rose.

Sawatsky zero zero one the net gods smiled on them that time beatrice gonna be doing a good job second server keeping rows deep zero zero two well for around the post but i think the ball is out not enough to overrule.

Point that's called out am i correct but you are correct yeah it was just a little wide 102 yep 102. yes you are nice drop by rose another nice drop by rose one thing i find really noticeable is.

The team of anna and b both play so low to the ground they excited flexibility with their lower lower extremities and they play so low gives them a nice touch around the net zero one one considerably lower than uh those of us that.

Are a little more on your age when you're in your 60s or 70s you don't get that low point well you can get that low you just can't get back not as quickly you needed help getting one one maybe we're selling ourselves short oh you are tremendous athletes right that's exactly just ask us.

Two one one a lot of fans gathering to watch this gold medal final i didn't say it earlier but the team of pam and rose second server come from the a side of this bracket and anna and b you're one dude b side so if anna and b happen to win this best.

Two out of three match then they have to play a tie-breaking game to 15. determine who wins the gold medal if pam and rose win this match they are the gold medal champions one two one this is women's doubles 4.5 12 years of agent up so these are the.

Young bucks second server it's kind of an it's it's called a 4.5 open so anybody one two two any age can play in here so anna anna and beatrice are probably 10 to 15 years younger than the other two.

Side out i suffice to say these are the best women in the building two on one yes they are i know i caught that two on one i didn't catch that dale what was it what was me asking him i i think what uh pam was saying is that.

Uh she needs the referee to speak a little louder she can't hear the score second server two one two thankfully we've got jim mitchell wired up so the folks that are watching this in their tablet or their computer can hear him good and.

And i've got headphones on so i don't pretty good too one two one it's nice to have the referee miked up one two two we don't have to say the score and you can hear everything that's said and and you can also listen on the interactions that happen from time to.

Time the players are asking the referee am i in their correct position am i the right server those kinds of things point yes yes asking if she's the right server in the right spot.

Jim mitchulux says yes and yes and that's that's one thing that you can ask you can ask if you're the correct server you can ask if you're in the correct position or what's the score three two two and that's changed just in the last year or two the rules have changed.

Used to be a little bit more restricted on what you could ask or was a referee what you could answer inside out and the the other thing that they can do now is a uh which as as a referee i i my preference is not to do three one which basically asks the the three questions that uh.

We had asked before second cross going volley there by pam b stretched out as far as she could but couldn't quite keep it in play two three two yes we didn't introduce ourselves what you've got is al carpancha and marshall hamilton.

Amateur announcing for us today three two a correction three three two close start so far score three three side out side out both teams trying to get a focus on their third shot drop three three one it's really hard to get a third shot drop in against a conservative got such.

Long legs and long arms that almost nothing lands in the kitchen on her side of the court three three she can reach three three two everything is a volley nice drop and rose goes to the way didn't get her first one but her second one put it away nicely nice attack by.

Rosawatsky from morton manitoba 4-3-2 side out i think pam and rose have been playing as partners off and on for probably four or five years have they not been well three four one actually being partners and then uh then they kind of took a hiatus from.

Each other for for a year or so yep and they are now uh second server playing some tournaments together they actually complement each other very well yeah they have similar skill sets yep three four i think they've been partners for a much shorter time like probably less than a year.

Yes yes for sure because uh v actually hasn't been playing all that long yeah tremendous athlete but you're right she's she's picked this game up way faster than most of us do four four two yeah youth helps flexibility helps point.

And being athletic that helps dude five four two i broadcasted a game yesterday with her in the gold medal for the mixed golfers and uh her and kel gottinger won the gold medal and she was struggling with that four five.

One crap in her thigh and i think she had had a crash earlier in the day of one of the courts into one of the fences i said this morning she said she's feeling much better second server didn't say she's 100 but she's feeling much better a bit of a timeout here we had a crash.

In the court beside us singles match singles so i think we might have a bit of a referee's timeout as they attend to the player who we can't see because he's behind a curtain but uh looks like he's still down okay we're all we're back in pam clark's.

Husband is a firefighter he's over there providing some assistance four five two and jim mitchell calls us back to action here on our court court number two let's hope everything's okay on report number three to the injured claire and the rule related to injury if the player cracks his head.

He is done for the day tournament done for the day 5-4-1 well i guess today's the last anyway but i don't know whether it's done for the day or down to the tournament but it's out of abundance of caution they don't want completely concussions that's exactly right.

Point i can see in the corpus artists that the player is sitting up so he's six four one if he was laying on the court he's no longer laying i was commenting on how low that at a second i don't think uh.

Pam and rose are much slouches either they can get down pretty low and lots of flexibility and six four two uh soft game skills as i call them oh tried it around the post and you didn't quite get there rose went through the dock got a really nice shot in b i thought she could go around the post.

But i don't think she was far enough off the court to get that to work there's nets over 461 the sideline by about a foot b keeping the opponents deep and it puts it just over yes it and was questions recall the referee confirms yes that ball was up five six one.

Yeah the quick wrists yeah just a snap right on that i can't see that close from here it looked like it's right on the back line side out good job by b keeping her opponent deep which is a good strategy six five one.

Yeah i like to think that the best rule of thumb is if your opponents are deep keep them deep this is a significant advantage in pickleball to being at the kitchen if your opponents aren't 751. second server.

752 score seven five two jim mitchell confirms for us point just out yes you are yes anna's asking if she's the correct server eight five two and in the correct position.

Even score eight to five so the person wearing the armband for those of you who don't know the red armbands rose and b are wearing are signifying that they're the first servers on their respective teams which means that on even points they should be in the right hand.

One referees use that as a tool to help determine the conservative players in the right spot so it's something that you can look for when you're watching at home and as players if i refuse to wear the armband you cannot play in a tournament right.

I was reading earlier this morning and one of the ladies side out you don't all it has to be is on your body and visible and she was wearing it tied to her shoelaces uh you can see rose swazi's got it on her upper arm by the bicep and b's got it on her wrist which is a little bit more traditional nice third shot drop from the back of.

The court by b pam goes to the attack oh tremendous reflexes by anna pam went to the attack anna was right there to return the ball and keep it in play i think pam would wish not pam uh rose would wish that that ball hadn't hit the.

Top of the net because i think the top of the net affected the flight of the ball and carried 10-5-1 might have been in otherwise 10-5 this is potential game-winning point second server and this is the first game of the best of three best two out of three match.

Between the a and b finalists here in the women's 4.5 open class again they came up from the b side so they're hoping to win two or three of this first match and force it to a tie-breaking game to 15. this this could be the same situation as when they played in the round robin.

Where i went to three games they went to two games and actually anna and b actually won their first game as well interesting and then pam and and rose came back and won the second one and ended up coming back in the third as well so we'll find out if history.

Repeats itself that's exactly right and what al just said is the premonition we're just equipping al with some microphone so that he can hear what the referee's saying i don't think he cares what i'm saying but he wants to at least know what the score is and hear what the referee said i want to be in the know wants to be in.

The note well then you should be listening to me well i will be i know everything just ask my wife i mean she thinks he thinks he knows everything that's what she'd say i can say that because she's not watching but.

She was here i'd say she's always right are you sure she's not watching i hope not i'm not exactly dressed like i'm going to sunday are we ready time's called early all right game two second game 11. first game and anna at the top of your screen.

Against rose and pam at the bottom of your screen once again anna and rose are the a side winners beatrice and anna and are the b-side winners but i say that wrong a-side on the white b-side on the block.

Great cross-court dinking between beatrice and robes one waiting for the other to make a mistake and neither is making it until there good patience good patience great patience showed by both teams but uh pam finally got an opportunity to put.

One away rose did all the work and pam just got the one shot to put it away so it's very typical right you know like one person tries to speed the game up and then they get hurt by doing that instead of being patient it's so hard to be patient as you know i'll move that ball up yeah.

Uh it's so hard to be patient when you're cross-court dinking like that and and you feel like you could do it all day but you're like i want to i want to get this point over with so yeah i want to get this point zero two eventually one of the players decides i'm going to get aggressive and.

It's not always the person that gets aggressive that gets the point sometimes they're the ones that make the mistake and the other team puts it away 0-2-1 but it is a bit of a cat and mouse game oh for sure it's who has the discipline yeah observer.

Yeah b tried to put that one away maybe a little bit earlier than she said two two went into the net attacked the ball as they say that was unattackable yeah some people use the terminology yellow or sorry red yellow green if the ball's too light.

It's in what they call the the red zone which means you shouldn't be going for it if it's in the yellow zone you want to think about it but if it gets up into that green zone that's where it's 201 the one that be hit into the net was probably at least in the yellow zone back to cross court dinking between b and.

Rows both anna and pam looking for an opportunity to poach down and put it away down the middle that one went second serve b and anna two zero two right side out backhand put away by anna great angle on it essentially 0-2-1.

Completely off the corner point pam goes for an attack down the middle but just a little bit long one two one kind of one of these things where uh bee and and rose like dinking the other two don't seem to supposed to be the batter right now one.

Two two well i think that's part of their personalities but i think it's also and you know this because you're a player when you play you tend to look at what's my weak link on the other side yeah and how can i take advantage of that out and i think.

Maybe both sides two one one thinking to rows and b is going to be to their advantage so that's where they're that's where they're dinking which puts pam in the spot where i got to wait for my opportunity to poach and try to put.

One away once that ball gets a little bit high so we'll do one just see if that strategy plays out through the rest of this game and the rest of this match i can i can assure you that anna and pam are both very capable thinkers of their own oh now we're cross-courting between pam.

And b side out missed opportunity there by rose yeah may have taken her eye off the ball just for a split second one two one interesting uh second server cam and.

And rose decided to switch but b and rows in opposite sides of the chords for that cross-court thinking amanda's top's been put away back in by anna daychenko that's about three as she's made this game already one of those identical shots.

Against her number of times and every time i play against her i go how long are those arms because she seems like she can reach everything nice reflexes by b that'll be put away yeah you don't want to put it up too high to either hannah or because.

It's almost an instant guaranteed put away side out paul left the court and everybody's bugging the guy that tried to throw it back on he's just trying to be a nice guy yeah give him up give him a break he's wearing a rough ride yeah he's a quarterback today oh he's.

The quarterback we're wondering who the quarterback would be today oh nice reflexes by b oh right down the line by uh clark nice play three two one a low scoring season the second game of the best of three.

First game was won by the team in black three two two pam and rose are up three to two right now here in the second game a little clapping of paddles around the post not.

and kept it in available two three one ultimately they got that at the end of that rally nice put away by rose she doesn't hit it quite as hard she hit it in a good spot and so.

Nice top spin on it two three two oh beatrice attacked that one successfully went off the end of rose's paddle onto the other court three three two and we're tied up again three three come on pam wait.

Yeah she's talking to herself yeah a little wine yeah she's saying to herself come on yeah you're smarter than that four three two even play force them to make you shouldn't assume what she's saying to herself but it's probably something like that what was the call there it was out it.

Was out side out jim mitchell the referee confirms yes it was out oh great pam and um it's just confirmation right so do you say they called it in i heard them say change it change your mind.

I thought it was out yeah but you guys called it in so so you that stands yeah yeah yeah the players to their own detriment called the ball in your serve even if the referee saw it over five three.

your boat agreed that it was in doesn't matter what the ref thinks i think that's my understanding as a reference the players agree that it's in what i think is a referendum yes you are that's exactly right if it's to your own detriment now it's different if the.

Advantage said that ball was clearly in that's not their size support it's not their call to make that's exactly right appeal to the referee that's not how this happened top level pickleball players are usually really honest about the in and out calls it's uh oh there's a photo oh it's one.

Of those things they call integrity yes right i thought rose had an easy put away but anna was there to play defense and kept it in play good defense by anna six three two they're now upside down a rare lob you see in the game between these four players and that wouldn't.

Happen to be long maybe that's why it's rare it is because it's usually four percentage shot especially for these players know how to put the ball away if it's not a perfect log especially from the baseline you know like if you're if you're at the.

Non-volley zone you can make a nice little lob to get it behind them left shoulder or their backhand yep back and forth yeah oh nice put away attempt by them but pam got it back over the net and put hers in four six two.

he thought you had the green light but she hit the top of the net bye she'd like to have that one five six hammond rose making a bit of a comeback here score five serving six oh those misses just a little tried tried.

To paint the line and yeah a little wide six five one point making a few unforced errors seven five one i think we might be here a little bit of wallow either either of these teams is gonna blow the other one out i don't think.

Point timeouts called by the receiving team good call good call score is eight five one salmon rose one minute all the time out which we've said on other broadcasts is typically done to try to stem the momentum it's not as much to get a drinking white towel off although sometimes that's the case.

But it's 95 of the time timeouts are called by the team that just lost the point or just lost a rally and and and typically on the losing end of the score at that point so they're doing it to try to stem the momentum of the other team and it's a gives them an opportunity to.

Talk a little bit of strategy and what can we do to change the change the flow of the game absolutely so just to go back to that indication from the end call by the players where the referee thought it was out the rule says that the players can change a call.

To their detriment if they so choose right which is what pam and rose did in that occasion jim mitchell at the referee saw it out but you have one timeout left it didn't matter you have two timeouts frozen time in eight five.

Always goes on the attack but the ball stays in play point boy the dinking is is tremendous and it's not clearing the net by very much by either team nine five one second server nine five two.

Remember i was talking about how long her arms were earlier there's a great illustration of i think when that ball was hit they thought they were hitting it to be banana or not 10 people just reached across like go go gadget arms and put it away.

That's the thing that uh players have to keep in mind is that expect the ball to come back you don't don't think you've got uh pretty shot that you can watch because it might come back and i find especially when you try speeding up the game like when i if if i go on attack.

I gotta i can't do that ball's coming back probably as hard as i hit it if not harder so you cannot go on the attack and expect to hit everything everyone a winner because some of them are coming back especially against better players yeah nice third shot dropped by roseair on.

That last one yep painted the line kicks in two six every ten so their backs are against the wall at least in this game let's see what side out see if pam and rose can fight their way back but this is the potential.

Potential game point scores ten six one and potentially one minute potential match point which we should clarify this is a best two out of three match and right now the team that came up from the b side is doing is doing better they won the first game.

And they're up 10-6 in this one if they win it then we take a break and play a final game 215 to see who wins the gold medal and a rule in a case like that on a on a players ready game to 15 is you have about 10 minutes between starts time's called.

Players rarely take that but that's right we'll see what happens here 10 6 1. pam was ready for that one anna sped it up in the second server not so fast 10-62 nice attack body shots i think v thought another cross-court.

Dink was coming and rose put a harder one rose side out here we are again potential 10-6-1 and this is the second game of the best two out of three match between the a side winners and the.

B-side winners oh nice nicely yeah nice lead by pam she's probably completely conservative too but uh she chose to leave and let her go along because in her experience that ball was hit a little too hard she uh really wanted that because she got she has a good smile.

We both experienced it firsthand yeah just look at those like wrists like if we had the ability to do the replay you could just see how those wrists just snap that's that badminton background in my opinion 6-10-1 definitely is a badge in the background you see ping-pong players that have a good snap too oh yeah.

Second server 6-10-2 i used to play badminton too but i don't know that i ever got taught how to snap a ball like that i can throw a football 60 yards but i can't snap like that middle presentations are about to take place.

I was just about to say nice and then yeah rose goes after one that she probably shouldn't have yeah she she hit it in the in the red zone as they say yeah ken ticks what bald second server uncharacteristic mistake on a serve oh nice crosstalk but down.

See if rose can stay patient on this one and patients there it is you got their opportunities still alive stay in this game still alive 6-10-1 i thought it was 17 no 16. nice play by b keeping her opponents deep the first one.

Went to rose's backhand and when rose played that one he said second third way this time painted it down the line six ten two those long arms again yeah not many balls then in the kitchen on the other side of the she was going down the middle and she.

Put it to the corner yeah nice leaves sir it's a pretty close one to leave but she made the right decision left it was up 10-6-2 match so we'll see how long they want for a break.

But as we were talking about earlier this is the gold medal final between the a division champs and the b division champs and the b division just beat the a division in a best two out of three games to 11. and now this forces a one game wins it all game to 15 between these two teams they played each other.

He's going to ask i need somebody to just verify each other twice today and in beatrice you've each one one so now eleven two five final winner takes all game eleven two we'll take a break until we're ready for that zoom initial i think they're saying five five minutes yeah.

The guy that hurt himself jeff barcelona going okay uh boston pizza is where those in the know patio like this fella whose charm runs absolutely rampant on the patio and yep he secures it once again yes.

Patioers the bp patio is back how much time do they want i think they've got five minutes that's right five minutes five minutes so it's not too late to apply for.

do.

so.

So game to 15. win by two change it eight the winner becomes the gold medal uh one or two.

The two choices serve side receiver deferred it really doesn't matter both sides because you got to switch it okay that's it for the primary referee if he wants my judgment okay it's the same normally we just have two.

Wraps okay so for those of you that just joined us we're getting ready to resume the gold medal final and the women's doubles 4.5 open age category came from the b side and just won two straight games you got four minutes.

To warm up a match and as a result has forced this final deciding game to 15. pam clark with the knee brace rosawaski without were the a side winners but now they're being forced to play into this final game to 15.

Tremendous skill from all four of these players they've played each other many times including earlier today and we got one game to 15 for all the marbles and this i think they get marbles they get some tin that looks like gold or some tin that looks like silver.

And the real winners are those of us watching because it's pretty entertaining tennis they're not tennis a pickleball and tremendous skill by all four players and the tiebreaker game is something that we should expect against with these four people yeah they played two matches against.

Each other today and each team has won one of the two matches so now we're playing to nobody's surprise one final game see who wins it all a chance to watch the players a little bit between while we were while they're taking their break and.

Both of them were availing some of the people they trust as coaches to perhaps give them some observations on what they might want to do different what they got away from in particular for pam and rose because anna and b won the two-game stream.

So they probably just want to keep things rolling the way they had in the last two games and for those of you to watch the first two games and you probably recall that there was one referee jim michelek who's from winnipeg he's the referee in white and for this gold medal final game they've added a second referee who's.

Standing in yellow and his job is to watch that non-volley zone same as it is for the other referee but also just have a second set of eyes on the non-volley zone as well as line calls either on the baseline one minute in particular closest to him and that second referee's name is roger carrier.

And he's from alberta so we've got a manitoba referee an alberta referee playing against saskatchewan players three well three of the players are from saskatchewan but ross swatzky's from morton manitoba near the u.s canada border about an hour and a half southeast of.

Winnipeg i didn't say this earlier i did say it yesterday but beatrice hopkins who's the uh lady in the dark shirt with sleeves is also a violinist with regina symphony 15.

Seconds no that's impressive wow i've never heard her play but if you're good enough to be a violinist secondary ireland you're talented and we know she's talented as a pickleball player as you'll see here shortly so they will play one game to 15 they'll.

Switch sides at eight right now we've got anna and b in the foreground here with their backs to us rosawaski and pam clark in white ham's the one with the game 15. here we go zero zero two you don't win with one point but every.

Point matters but b was equal to the task side up zero one one quick hands by b as rose goes to the attack second server i think anna was going to to the ball and stopped and b thought she was going.

To take it so yeah a little bit of confusion zero one two sometimes those balls in the middle do that the cost of two players can think about it while are you taking it or am i taking it i don't always have time to communicate i'm start going to the attack that'll get put away there we go.

put away for sure all precipitated by an aggressive attack by tom clark one zero one and anna goes on the aggressive second server and actually that ball might have been out if had uh if rose gotta get out of.

The way one zero two out of the way i was thinking the same thing yet but as you know in the heat of the fray it's it's either hard to get out of the way or it's hard to make that decision so quickly well and sometimes it's just a reaction it's like a goaltender when the puck's being fired at you you're just sort of.

Trying to move to get in the way which in pickleball means sometimes zero one one to get out of the way that's by anna good quick hands by hannah point one one there we go yeah second server can't put it up like that for pam.

She's got one two hands and hits the ball so hard i don't think he could put it up against any of these four players but in particular in particular her side of the chord and ana on the other side of the chord they they're going ball nice hard nice cross court by pam they're very nice quick and so hard for uh so i.

Do ladies they hit harder than a lot of the men we play against one one one second server unforced error by pam there on the serve holy little bit of nerves probably on both sides of the court one one two side out.

Still early in this golden 1-1 final game game to 15. that was always i was just gonna say that ball was closed out was out pam and rose appealed to the referees and confirmed yes that was a.

Two one one second server third shot drop by anna comes up short do one two oh we haven't seen many of those but hannah tries to drop the back of the court catches rose off guard three one two.

See the pattern continue which has typically been cross-court dinking by rosawaski and b interest hopkins side out anna jumps in to try to attack but fall into the net one three one attacked by pam anna equal to the attack.

To the task nice call by pam to warn your partner not to go after that ball yeah two three one little bit of aggressive play by pam and rose on that one worked out to their advantage the interest gets so low.

Oh interesting you don't see that very often but that's that aggressive law from the on the from the non-volley zone as opposed to from the baseline that's right that's three three one just got it barely high enough to get over b who took it with their paddle on the way back sorry i cut you off.

That's what yeah what i was going to say second observer just took her eye off the ball a bit yeah you want to get that ball high enough three three two there but not too high to give some time to go back and get it here we're back to being rose oh.

She'd like to have that one over side out she knew as soon as she hit it that ball was good oh yeah three three one looks like we've got an interesting gold medal men's singles final right next to us.

You're faster background could be for that game too the international trade center in regina during the final day of competition today is ladies doubles and men's singles oh interesting oh look at that oh rose would love to have that one over.

Here she has pictures she had herself right up forced b to go back and get it b made a great job dropping it into the kitchen but i think rose most of the time would put that one away if given another opportunity.

Interesting how we've seen two lobs we've seen two lobs overv we didn't see it in the first two games so i wonder if that's something they talked about in their strategy session with their coaches yeah and if you're going to do that you go five three two against b not uh anna.

Because these arms aren't quite as long and she's not as tall that's right and it's anna's one of the taller women in this tournament and she's got the longest arms on the planet i think so uh point timeout called by the receiving team she's certainly got lost score is six.

Three two i wouldn't be lobbing over her one minute a couple of unforced errors there on the part of uh bros yeah took a timeout made himself settled yeah maybe trying to get a little bit too aggressive if you don't see it i see nothing wrong with you.

Interesting the two referees right now if you're listening in there they're talking about the the serve of one of the players and whether they're you guys ready in the back of their hand to create some space you guys ready contact with the ball i haven't noticed time's called.

That's what the conversation they were having and jim mitchell said time in i don't see anything wrong six three two yeah i think rose would be happier than the couple before the timeout so it was a good time out they it was a good time out yeah you stemmed the three six one you stem the momentum and.

You calmed yourself down so that you can start making the shots that you know you're capable of making second server of course as soon as i compliment her she misses a nerd check three six two that's called the marshall tanks the marshall jinx the marshal there you.

Go jinxed by the marshall nice attack by b side out they seem to want to dig 3-1 but they got to be careful of anna lurking in the middle with those long arms and poaching oh a bit of a breakaway for anna as it hits the top of the net throws off the timing for rose yeah seven three one.

Second server seven three two or one point away from them switching sides at eight that is if anna and b get the next point great display of patience and cross-court thinking by these two players oh.

Another net another net shot tom was ready to put that one away but it hit the top of the net throughout her timing scores eight three two change ends well have one minute this leads us to the eight point change ends one minute timeout referees timeout nnb the first team to eight points they.

Also won the first two games of of this gold medal final they won the best two out of three match because they came from the b side they have to play right number one final game this the game to 15 to see who wins the gold medal these wells.

The momentum seems to be on nana and beatrice's side right now so yeah yeah pam and rose need to uh besides just now i'll be just going through the motions kind of close to us right now we're sort of overlooking their we can't hear anything they're saying but just the body language isn't as.

That's positive and it is on the other side of the court no that's right i'm not saying you can't turn it around but uh they're gonna have to do something because right now 15 seconds oh there's been many games that people have come back on and oh for sure it's happened to me both ways i i lost being up eight to.

Three and i was also one time down eight to three so eight three two i got one i remember one game in particular recently that i was playing against you were in that momentum swung them in so yes not to bring up a bad memory but yeah it is part of it.

It is a bad memory you have to bring that up three two now if you've played long enough you've been on both ends of that stick oh the food yes three eight one see if pam and rose can climb out of this five-point deficit and the momentum that's been swinging.

Against them so far in this second server gotta start with one three eight two nice job by anna to keep the opposing team deep goes through the attack mode b tries to attack good defense.

Oh try it out release there's beatrice a little little uncharacteristic of uh rose on the number of eight three one in the net chance that she's made this game yeah i don't know if you call them unforced errors but.

They're uh they're errors that are a bit uncharacteristic of her what great defense might be on that one anna's quick hands a little nervous about whether she was going to step into that kitchen but she kept those long legs at a point nine three one.

Yeah you can see rose and pam both talking to themselves 10-3-1 not happy with their play so far both know they're capable of playing better credit to anna and b they're the ones putting the pressure on yeah they certainly are there's another.

There's a nice you've seen that from town second server ball gets up a little bit high attack if they can hold them off here and get a point that might 10 3 2 what's the momentum no point and as i speak diamonds that's the algae that wasn't there but the.

Receiving team scores 11 3 2. yeah you can certainly see the momentum on one minute of the court not on the other yeah for sure for sure we're certainly not writing these two players off because they're both very talented and think anybody can turn it around the two of them can.

So go once again we're in the western canadian championships we've got a referee from winnipeg a referee from alberta pam clarks from regina anna's from regina b's from regina broswatsky from morton manitoba so every province against except british.

Columbia represented yes you are here in this gold medal final yes yes you are you have no timeouts left you have two timeouts attack by pam clark there with quick hands and that snap of the wrist anna was a little over aggressive there and trying to poach shut out.

Didn't work it's worked more than it has 11 1. you can't blame her for trying yeah there you you go have to play one point at a time you only have to win one point at a time four eleven one second server impressive on that one too.

I mean it worked in her favor that time but she was well on to be side of the court 411 too side out he does such a great job of getting down low and in that ready position 11-4-1 drops his volleys and keeping the pressure on her opponents.

I mean all these players do but i've just noticed that look how low b gets points twelve four one pam anna not able to get her hands on it or her paddle on it 12 42. i haven't seen one of those yet today lobster i'm gonna put that one away yeah.

Try it out not that the serve was a factor on that one it's just that these four players are tending to hit fairly hard four twelve one thirty serves as opposed to lobster then you notice too that uh b is kind of uh giving way to anna in a lot of.

Situations second server yeah that is a strong player especially on her 412 and uh it's not a bad strategy to sort of leave that middle to her let her play that forehand point in that case she was playing her backhand and hit it just a little bit of.

Yes you are five twelve two still a pretty big hole for shark side out one of the rules they just changed in the last year or two l as you know is that if a net serve still lands in the court it's considered a good serve but in this case it hit the.

Net 12 five one zone thank you that's called default you are absolutely correct quick hands quick hands there quick hands nice nice little uh gun fight at the second server that's right twelve five two there's times when pickleball looks like a slow sport and.

Then it speeds up and it looks lightning fast there point i'm shaking her head saying wow she's had better days yeah 13 by 2. better remember here that this is a gold medal game so they both they both meddle so oh yeah you you do want to win the gold.

Medal before game five not all that bad either no they won't admit that getting a silver makes them feel good because they are absolutely not absolutely not and i i think similar to myself i don't mind losing the game if i play well right it's 5 14 that i get upset.

With myself and i think if anna and and b win this this gold medal second server and right now the momentum's on their side uh gold medal but i think i think rose and and hammer are going to both be saying to themselves we didn't play our best.

nice put away by b side out ham's able to get her paddle on it but can't keep it in play 14-5-1 at a potential gold medal winning point second server fourteen five two still alive they're in a fairly deep.

Hole they got a lot of climbing to do but they're still alive 5 14 1. pickleball's not like boxing you can't just take one big swing and get a lucky punch and knock your opponent out you got to do it with a whole bunch of body blows oh.

Second server i don't know what you can say other than wow i mean animus is an overhead which is which we would have thought would have been a sure place 5 14 too when she misses it b scrambles to the back of the court and keeps into play enough to win that rally.

After making a nice play like that and staying focused and getting that ball after anna missed it and then puts one into the net right yeah 6 14 2. some of the things these ladies are doing that makes they make it look so easy and as you and you and i both know it's not easy to do the kind of things that they're oh no inside out.

Four tremendous athletes highly skilled pickleball players enjoyable match to one or two watch rather fourteen six one potential gold medal point boy game match there it is anna dieschenko.

Beatrice hopkins gold medalist rose sawatsky and pam park silver medalist that's an excellent excellent match well officiated well played 18 6. i hope you enjoyed it we'll sign off for now and we'll join you next time we've got a gold medal match on this court.

Actually only got one no don't worry about it oh roger thanks boston pizza is where those in the know oh patio like this fella whose charm runs absolutely rampant on the patio.

And yep he secures it once again yes patioers the bp patio is back there's your hello everyone my name is steve deakin i'm a professional pickleball player that competes on the ppa tour i am pickleball canada's international ambassador and i found this incredible.

Sport back in 2017 i had a a professional tennis background and i had a shoulder injury and one day while i was rehabbing the shoulder my dad came to me and said hey um there's this incredible sport called pickleball why don't we come on down to the rec center and you can try this out and i said this sounds like a great idea.

I went down to the rec center and i started playing with one of the old wooden paddles and i took a love to the sport immediately i had a ton of fun with it but i was playing tennis on a pickleball.

Court so i was hitting every single ball as hard as i can and i even tried to serve overhand but i was schooled pretty quickly with some basic rules about what i could and could not do on a pickleball court and one of those things was i had to serve.

Underhanded and this was a really strange one too after somebody returns the serve to me i can't hit that ball in the air i gotta let that ball bounce for the third shot and then one thing i had a really really tough time with because in tennis i was always closing off the net so the.

One thing i had a hard time with was this thing called the kitchen and i was like what the heck is that the kitchen is a spot where i cannot go into and hit the ball in the air i have to let the ball bounce in the kitchen before i make contact with it so i had such a a great time i made so many.

New friends and i'm just so grateful to be part of the growth of the sport in canada and uh i'm hoping to get back on tour again and and play um in in the middle of august but uh until until then i wish you all good luck on the courts and i had a great time here at the canadian western regionals so.

If these guys win it's only best for three to 11 by two if the challengers win then hello everyone my name is steve deacon i'm a professional pickleball player that competes on the uh ppa tour i am pickleball canada's international ambassador and i found this incredible sport back in 2017 i had a professional tennis background and i had a shoulder.

All right time in balls in please thank you well welcome everybody that's tuned in for this the gold medal finally ladies doubles 3.0 ages 12 to 59. introduce the teams for you in black you're trying to choice balls from the team that came through.

Undefeated so they're the a side champions that's troy chan with the long-sleeve black shirt which is from edmonton right 15 seconds and irene gorman with the short uh the tank top is from peace river alberta they're the right again this is a gold medal match for 3.0 12 to 59 years of age.

Best of three to 11 by two times in game one zero zero two referee allen thompson from victoria sort of repeating what i just said in the near court we've got two ladies from sight out once from regina stephanie seagal and pink.

Zero zero one from elmore park just outside of vagina actually one of my neighbors that's where i'm from nice put away by stephanie we're playing a match best two out of three games zero zero two.

And if by chance seagal and slusher win this match then they'll play a deciding game to 15 to see who wins the gold medal zero zero one fight stepping for a nice third shot drop.

Irene couldn't right get it over the net one zero one first point of the game that'll keep irene honest perhaps they're cheating a little bit to the middle superstar 2 01. wow.

You don't see me a lot first of all getting an overhead smash like that is impressive but to hit a jumping overhand smash two irene garman peace river alberta attackable ball joy just mentioned slide out zero two one two seven.

Second one troy choices drive joyce says not on my watch zero two two defense point eventually goes to the two ladies from alberta one two two stephanie nice put away sign.

2-1-1 three one one point irene would like to have that one over again she usually puts those away that one she gets between the two of you i'll put it right.

There four one two one wisely let that go and it was long second server one four two four one one second server.

I read a couple two of them in the middle and decided i'll put it down one of the sides and there's no sign out a little bit of good fortune on the side of alberta on that play at the top of the net just dribbles over two four one two serving four.

Second server irene tries two lobs the first one stephanie returns in the court the second one she whiffs to her good fortune the ball was up which of course she knew that's the point display of crossbow.

Thinking by those two ladies troy says i'm not going to go crossboard i'm going to go in the hole right between the two of you nice put away nicely placed ball three four two five four four two.

One five four two drop right up four five one tied up at five i had a nice dig to get over the net but.

Irene's shot hits the top of that five right over the line i was so impressed with her jumping over his smash before but i think her timing was off a little bit on that one so that one goes into the net six five two point for the team from saskatchewan.

Five six one second server let go by joy falls out second serve for alberto five six two right up wasn't there jumping over it smash is still a very impressive smash overhead smack by joyce lucha from six five one.

Second six five two slide out depending on which side you're on irene's return just hits the top of the net five six one the lob attempt second server five six two.

Six five one point nice drive joy it wasn't down the line but it was certainly going to paint the line if it got to when it seven five one troy couldn't get her hands on it and get back over the net.

Second server excuse me while i get the ball seven five two that overhead smashed by uh irene literally went to your living room and another one for a side out irene demonstrating that if you put the ball up high five seven one.

Stephanie cerdal says i can do that too second server five seven two fly it out seven five one second serve sorry point timeout call by the receiving team on my left score is eight five one one minute.

Eight five conclusion here in the first game gold medal final first match is best two out of three if by chance if uh solution and segal win this best two out of three because they're coming from the b side that would force.

The final game to 15 which would be to determine who the gold medal champions are in this division ladies doubles 3.0 ages 12 to 59. so far the b-side champions are off to an 8-5 lead here in the first game 15 seconds receiving team one time out remaining.

serving team two timeouts available each team gets two one minute timeouts per game time is in teacher melon birdie just used their first five one eight five two nine five two.

Down side out flexibility by irene that was kind of over her back shoulder five nine one second server 592. fine joy would love to have that one over again all within the green zone.

Probably puts nine out of ten of those away easily six nine two six every nine and stephanie seagal puts that one away slide out nine six one irene had a nice overhead smash into the.

Corner stephanie didn't give up on it ten six one back over the net well played nice third stephanie intercepts it right down the middle winning point game number one goes to.

Stephanie and joy from saskatchewan yeah the b-side b-side players participants in this gold medal final they need to win this first match best two out of three and if they are successful then we'll force.

A deciding 15-point game between the two teams to determine who wins the gold medal in the women's doubles 3.0 h12 to 59 category we're pretty giving them some time to change ends take the water bottles to the new end get ready to start game two trevory allen thompson.

From victoria two ladies from alberta in the foreground and black two ladies from saskatchewan at the top of the screen in black and pink l thompson the referee as i said from victoria right players are ready to go we'll go.

Time in game two zero zero two there are three of the four provinces represented here in this gold medal final law by irene sign out.

Zero zero one second server nice defense ball a little bit out zero zero two zero two i don't think you want to give that letter eyeball so they can smash them on you.

Troy's not the tallest lady but she got up there and put that one away with authority one one one one one two oh probably both wide one two one one two two.

Two one one down five three one one first game went to joy and stephanie at the top of the screen but right now two ladies from alberta before one lead here in the second game yeah i don't think i read misses too.

Many of those but she missed that overhead smile she'd love to do that one over again yeah second second server four one two one four one nice rally lots of good resets by the ladies from saskatchewan but eventually.

Irene puts one away one four two slide out significant poach by irene successful in that case 4-1-1 even though it was on her backhand timeout call by the receiving team on my left score is five one one one minute.

Stop the momentum from alberta one minute very good i am a referee as well if it's a referee you.

See that happening or hear that happen 15 seconds receiving team one time out remaining serving team two timeouts available once again uh you have five and you are right time is in five one one.

Second five one two that's my joy i've always tried that middle a couple of times one five one not well enough to overrope fine.

Here in game number two first game won by lucha cigar saskatchewan second server all just out i'm i don't two five one over is matched by.

I'd like to have that one over again both long and white three five one three five irene's backhand but from a strategic example whether that's something that they are doing intentionally or not i don't think they're intentionally.

Trying to say that overhead smashes which they did there caught up in curtains we use expenses here five three one we're ready to go.

Five three two fine irene tries to drive it down the down the line on stephanie stephanie gets a paddle on it six three two seven three two impressive display of defense quick hands a lot of hits in a short period of time.

Especially joyce lucerne eight three two eight to three for the team for melbourne tina lost the first game of this best of three they're up eight three in this one it was just out yep alberta appeals to the referee confirmed three eight one you saw the ball out as.

Well three serving eight nice love nice overhead smash may not be much more than five feet tall but she looks like about an eight foot giant on that one so press it three eight two.

Four eight two it's joy sometimes those body shots are really effective because it's just so hard to get your paddle on something when it's coming out to that speed second server.

Center your chest and you can get away a lot of times hitting it too hard because it's not going to go it's not going to go out the back of the board put that one away oh no they got it back wow nice valley nice round defense good offense.

Well played by all four ladies four eight one you are now recall four eight two that's playing by joy there side note i'm fresh out of balls i'm gonna have to get one of those.

Yeah just a second to get the balls back shortly right time in eight four one eight serving four here at game two of a best of three second server another ball off the court.

Did we have a case of balls delivered to court number two for anybody that's out there listening catch a rope through the ball under the court for those of you that were born underneath the rock it's game day here in saskatchewan.

Let's play later today eight four two not too far from where we're playing pinball right now four eight one just a little bit longer four eight two step nine love that one.

Over again a put away attempt went into the net eight four one i read bitter the paddle on the net or the screen at the back of the second didn't throw her off four eight two point.

Timeout call by the receiving team on my left scores nine for two one minute uh joy and stephanie's second time out in this game which means they're out of timeouts in game number two i think folks for the ladies from alberta haven't used any of their timeouts.

They've got a pretty commanding lead right now i believe it's nine to four here in the second game of this best two out of three first game was won by stephanie and joy from saskatchewan but the two alberta ladies are fighting back and are leading 9-4 here in game number two.

Once again this is the gold medal final ladies doubles 3.0 15 seconds receiving team receiving team zero timeouts available serving team you have two time is in nine four two referee confirming what i said about the number of timeouts.

Find out four ten one second four ten two four i think perhaps the ladies from saskatchewan thought that might be long but it was in so 10.51.

Potential game if she can finish off this game slide out five ten one second serve five ten two a few times potentially and this time they got it point and game.

At eleven five let's drive two minutes or try rather so we have each team's won one game here in this gold medal best of three out of three games to 11 win by two you're in the gold medal final here.

Thank women's doubles 12 to 59. switch sides come back and play game number three work next to us we've got looks like a gold medal men's singles final i don't know both players but i know.

Charles neufeld is one of the two and he's one of the best male players in canada hey phil would you do me a favor get me a couple of balls a couple balls yeah might use them thank you exactly.

Asking for a couple of balls because as you've seen if you've been watching a couple of balls have been going astray over top of the curtains that outline this court pretty effective screen but not if the ball is a little bit higher than the height of department.

15 seconds all right players ready please this is game three time is in zero zero two have you heard him say it's game three of the.

Best two out of three gold medal final each team's won one game sign out here you go here we are here we are we've lost another ball already it's a good thing the referee jim thompson from victoria was there zero zero supply so there's no break in the action.

Second search zero zero two point enjoy with an aggressive drive stephanie got a paddle on it but just hit the top of the net first point one zero two alberta troy who's from edmonton.

Irene who's from peace river side out good soft game displayed by both teams choice attempt into the net side out zero one one troy tries going down the middle but stephanie got her paddle on it kept it in play.

First point one one second server nice overhead smash by choi it's definitely got a paddle on it but not able to get it over the net one one two side out zero one.

There's a one that's going to stay in the court joy does a good job of getting it back second serve so i got a paddle long and wide right one one two here we are at one one here early in the third game.

One one one one two side out one one one points you can just see choice confidence going up that ball isn't very high over the net and she's driving it down the middle between the two.

Saskatchewan players two one one she didn't get the put away but she set it up with a couple aggressive shots down the middle for parker irene put it away fine it seems that choice got her shot zeroed in.

That drive or push down the middle three one one four one one five one one another impressive overhead jumping smash that is six one one change ends please six one one you have one minute irene gorman from peace river alberta.

Playing with her partner choi chan from edmonton alberta they've reached the six point mark beer of this third game of the best of three so in the third game of the best of three you switch sides at six from alberta fifty to get six one minute and they'll resume this play.

Again this is the third game it's tied one one in games and if the team from saskatchewan offsets the team from alberta in this third game then they would play a fourth game deciding game for 15. if the ladies from 15 seconds win this third game.

They are your gold medal champions and this the women's doubles 3.0 age group 12 to 59 years of age you are you would be time's in six one one score 6-1 for the team from alberta second.

Six one two lob attempt not going to overrule not going to be able to overrule sign out ball called long was obviously close because the team from alberta challenged the referee said one six one wasn't obvious enough for him to overrule the.

Calls for the ball stands while being second server irene gets an opportunity for a put away and makes the best of it one six two point two six two.

Slide out six two one seven two one something seems odd to me because second server saskatchewan has two points but yet the person with the red armband who's the even player is in the odds seven two two.

the team i have you had two yep never never had them then get in they're talking about that confusion right now.

They've just come to that conclusion that he from saskatchewan thought they had three points and they were lined up they had three points nope nope on a day like today it's harder to take your saskatchewan roughrider cap on.

Which i also am nine two two nine two for the ladies from alberta sign out lady from saskatchewan abduct themselves two nine one see if they can turn this momentum around it's a game of momentum they can turn it around and get back in this game.

Second server choice starts out with an aggressive shot down the middle ultimately results in a lost rally two nine two seven nine sign out ladies from alberta two points away from winning their gold medal in this division.

Nine two one george the first server second server from emerald park saskatchewan nine two two sky's that overhead smash looked like she's going down the middle but it went down the side fine all called out at the back we're down to.

Potential goals one not on my watch second two hands by george cloosher wow ten three one potential gold medal.

Served second server ten three two slide out from saskatchewan are you serving ten three ten one.

Rallying from there one jumping overhead smash a lot higher than marshall hamilton does they win the gold medal i look pretty happy about that.

And the two ladies from saskatchewan stephanie seagal and pink joyce lucha and black very impressive showing silver metal thanks for watching we'll join you at the next gold medal match right so i've got chow choy and ariane.

Winning the 6 11 11 5 and 11 3 and i'll sign it for you thank you all right boston pizza is where those in the know patio like this fella whose charm runs absolutely rampant on the patio and yep he secures it once again yes patioers the bp patio is back.

.

so.

do do.

so.

At the top she's from regina and john dwan another lady with her sleeveless t-shirt her sleeve sleeved t-shirt is for kalona jim mitchlock our referee who's from winnipeg.

Point first point rally what's in favor of the two ladies from saskatoon one zero two off and running marshall hamilton here provide a little bit of commentaries tune up point two zero two.

Here we are near the end of day three here at the western canadian pickleball championships in regina side out today's action has been ladies doubles and men's singing second server ladies and gentlemen a good job playing defense but eventually.

Hit one into the net zero two two we're playing a best of three match best two out of three games to eleven win by two human blocks point kept also attempt one are undefeated so they're just hang on a second.

Let's sit at the aside champion this thing is so far out the two ladies at the top of the street from saskatoon or the b-side champion so if by chance they were to win this best two of three we would be playing one more game time back five breaker game to 15.

But that's getting a bit ahead one two two see how these first games go two two second server two two which is why three two two point.

Nice cross-court think by cheryl paints the line four two two put jan in an awkward spot so two four one second server 242.

Yeah it was a point yes it was a point yes three four two time you can ask a referee if you're in the right spot or am i the right server before that's what the ladies are doing whether they're in the right spot.

Point sort of a half loft down the middle caught between players a little bit of confusion between the two players is who's going to play that there's got to be a point for the team and block 442 4-4 here early in the first game.

That's 23 gold medal fine bye part two four five one second server did the third shot drop just missed the line.

A little bit bye for one thought about coming over but hit the tape stayed on the side of the net from the tooth close from saskatoon six four one point goes to the team in black.

Second server six four two four six one four six two defense yes you are five six two hope they don't mind calling girls.

Ladies team one minute four seven six for the ladies from saskatoon one minute timeout each team has allowed two one minute timeouts per game we're here in the first game of the best two out of three games for eleven.

Once again the team in black bev and jan came into this as the a side participants they just need to win two of these first three games and they're gold medal champions the ladies from saskatoon sandy and cheryl.

Need to win two of these first three games to force a game fifth a game to 15 for the gold medal you ready time called early you have one timeout left you have two timeout left seven six two nice to have the referee jim mitchelluck wired up so that we.

Could hear him call the score and give him instructions to the players right i think that would like to have that one back 862. impressive defense by the ladies from saskatoon keeping the ball in play.

Giving smash opportunities to the team in black side out which eventually results in a timeout impressive defense just a little bit wide 682 can't get.

Ladies excuse me our ball went onto the court beside us and the ladies are a bit distracted because that game just ended not enough time for the zamboni to go around the rink but time for everybody to catch your breath as we get back out into the action.

I guess i shouldn't be talking about zamboni's we're not quite into hockey season yet it's still football season and our beloved saskatchewan rough riders playing second server less than an hour from now yeah 8-6.

Eight serving six for the ladies from saskatoon this being game one good two-handed back here two-handed defense by cheryl nice put away in the open court six eight one.

Nice put away by cheryl second server second serve 682 good hustle by cheryl she got her paddle on it but just hit it a little bit wide that was a point seven seven seven eight two.

The ladies thought it would go out the back tied up it was in suicide out saskatoon deserved eight seven one sandy freezing with a good third shot drop jan's return was a little bit high so sandy says i'm going to put that one.

Away 971 very nice serve by cheryl jan hits it wide or uh bev hits him timeout called one point away potentially from the ladies from saskatoon 10 7 yeah one minute referee jim mitchell from winnipeg gives.

Them one minute time out a little hydration maybe towel off you know a coach you want to consult with you can do that during timeouts doesn't look like either teams consulting with anybody other than discussing strategy perhaps between themselves that's kind of the norm.

Again bev and jan won the a side sandy and cheryl on the b side so these first two or three games will determine whether we need to play a game to 15 to decide the gold medal 15 seconds time in.

You have no timeouts left you have two timeouts again seven one wait for their opponents to make a mistake which they did first game goes to sandy friesen sheryl ends from saskatoon they won the first game of this best two games out of three for the gold medal final ladies 3.5 60.

Years of age end up day winding down here at the international trade center here in regina we've got three fabulous days of political players displaying their skills some pretty good crowds here in the.

Western canadian pickleball championships today the final day ladies doubles and men's singles two chords down we've got a couple of men playing in a men's singles game.

And our feature game on this court two ladies playing four ladies playing doubles for the gold medal two to eleven zero zero two baptolophan to serve first here in this the second game first point goes to the team in black one zero two.

Little confusion there perhaps between john and bev as to who's going to take that general rule of thumb is the person on the forehand should take it which would have been bev that's for the two teammates to decide between themselves oh very nice.

Cheryl kind of goes behind bev down the line keeps it in the back line point to the ladies from saskatchewan second server cheryl speeds up the play a little bit not cheryl sorry dan speeds up the play a little bit off the the edge of the paddle for.

Cheryl nice shot down the middle by jan try it out sure i'll get some paddle on it but just a little bit up one one one second server third shot drop attempt just a little bit short second serve one one two score tied at one here in.

Game two that ball thought about going over but stayed on the team at black side so side out goes to the ladies from saskatoon oh impressive play by all these ladies good cross court dinking shot down the middle of tulsa keeps it in play eventually the ladies from south stone put it away.

Do one one point free point if you want to call it that from 3-1-1 for the team from saskatoon the ball into the open court oh bev would like to have that one over again.

Not an easy put away but certainly one that she'll put away most times jeff goes back to get the lob and she is successful keeping in play it's sandy freezing puts the ball away for a point one five.

Five one two nine is called by the receiving team i'm all called by bev score 5-1 two ladies from saskatoon who won the first game of this best two out of three if they continue on and win this second game that would mean they won the first.

Quote-unquote match but because they came from the b-side we'd have to play one more game to 15 to decide who's the winner of the gold medal women's 3.5 age 60 years age and up 15 seconds you have one timeout left you have two timeouts.

Cheryl ants to serve time in five one two two ladies from saskatoon in the foreground jeff tullison from regina and jan from kamloops in black they have a little disappointed in herself.

Anybody's played play pickleball those verbal warning is issued for throwing the paddle so jim mitchell rightly issues of verbal warning to jan not to jan sorry to bev for throwing your paddle that feels bad apologize to the referee.

Which you don't have to do but it's a nice thing to do right it's recording the verbal warning on the back of the scoresheet for the most part pickleball is a very very gentleman friendly cordial sport but every once in a while our tempers.

Get the better of us or our frustrations get the better lesson that's probably what happened there i'm back in impressive defense by the team in black but the ball just sailed a little bit long so another point for them saskatoon seven serving one.

That one goes outside eight dorm eight one two we're getting late in the day the lady's probably getting a little bit tired perhaps concentration potential fatigue or perhaps it's just a superiority play of your opponent.

Nice drive down the line by sandy friesen jan's return into the net 912 nine seven one i think the serve was long it's called by bev so inside out one nine one.

Point nice third shot dropped by bev tolson ball just touches the top of the net second server top of the net down that one too but it stayed on the black team side of the net so i think it's still second serve for the team in black which it is.

Uh yes but it's not yours yeah it's bev serve that serve and you have two two zero two two zero two nine oh sorry my mistake.

Two nine two as i said it's getting late in the day and even the referees which i am one we make mistakes too human beings best thing to do is say my mistake correct score is two nine 921.

nice two-handed cross-court dinking and a put away by bev paulson second server nine to two nice attack by jan doan side out body shot on cheryl ends yes.

291 point i'd like to have that one over point to the team in black we have to also start serving at three nine one nine one that ball was going to go out but it was going right for second server right for bev's chest.

Didn't have much chance 392. try to play it tied out nine three one sandy freezing to serve at nine points see if they can finish this game off with two more points look at the quick hands for these four ladies are displaying here.

It's put away by bev impressive rally by all four ladies i don't know how many hits there were quite a few balls cut up in the curtains that are surrounding the court that finally finds it so now we're at 922 932 932 my apologies.

Got janet an awkward spot point to saskatoon potential match winning point not gold not gold medal at any point oh timeout called timeouts called kind of a late time out but nevertheless uh successful timeouts score ten three four one minute two.

Ladies from saskatoon potential to finish it off with this serve if they do they win the first match but because they came from the b side we'll have to play the gold medal final game a game to 15 between the same two teams hydration break for everybody including.

Myself it's just water in there but i wish it was something else this time of day 15 seconds so he's got cheryl and getting ready to serve at 10 points you have no time out left you have to time in ten three two potential game point.

To close the deal so the team in black still alive 3 10 1. impressive saves by both both teams but it's a point for the team in black 4 10 1. second server 4 10 2.

Very nice put away attempt by cheryl but bev made a remarkable return kept the ball in play five ten two able to salvage the point for the team in black nice recovery by jan oh a little too fancy cheryl team in black still alive climbing their way out of the hole that they were in.

One point it was 10 serving three for the yeah from saskatoon six gen two climbed back to six ten point timeout's called by the receiving team 6102 one minute no.

um 15 seconds you have one timeout left you have no timeout left seven ten two seven ten two.

We are back score 7 serving 10. this is the second game of the best two out of three side out in the gold medal final team from saskatoon cheryl ends having an opportunity to finish this game off with a potential match winning.

Serve well i'm not going to let that happen not that second server 10.72 good defense by jan ball eventually lands out it was out point game so that's the.

Game-winning point the match winning point now we have to go one more game but as i've said a couple of times so far the team from saskatoon came from the b side so they have to win the best two out of three which they did two games straight five minutes between until the.

Start of the next one but now they've got to play away so but now they got to play the final game again a game to 15. so we're taking i think a five minute break and then we'll come back for the final game of this gold medal match okay 3.5 plus years of age the first game 11.

7 the second game 11 7. oh hey okay you got five minutes boston pizza is where those in the know patio like this fella whose charm runs absolutely rampant on the patio and yep he secures it once again yes patioers the bp patio is back.

they were given five minutes might be here a while oh you got four minutes left to eat it you got four minutes left okay three minutes.

Yes i deserved it i was i was being nice and gave you a verbal instead of a technical against you because you have one technical warning and then the second technical warning is technical fault and you lose a point third technical warranty or technical fault is a game is a game for them.

And then the fourth one is a match worker so the verbal warning is just well no there's actually the first one we swear and that that'll stop that and then verbal warning is basically the.

First step of the discipline yeah we're getting all kinds of no you're making records no no no we're going to start this all over again is it on tonight for sure okay we're going into the tiebreaker.

our final match for the gold this is 215. we're gonna change that eight and you've gotta win by two uh all the same rules before we got the same servers and everybody's the same so that's okay.

Uh bev one or two you're serving and what are you guys you're taking that side you're going to receive no matter what all right you heard jim mitchelluck our referee from winnipeg describe what's going to happen we're.

Playing one final game to 15. they'll switch sides at eight winner of this game is our gold medal champions in the women's 3.5 doubles age 60 plus bev tolleson jan dward in the foreground in black that from.

15 the regina takes the gold home down from columbia change at eight zero zero two and on the far court in the yellow and green colors two ladies from saskatoon sandy friesen cheryl ends one zero two saskatoon off to an early one-nothing lead.

That one a little bit long 0-1-1 1-1-1 nice third shot drop by bev follows it up with the drive cheryl's able to get a paddle on it but into the net two one one.

Impressive defense by the two ladies in black off to a 3-1 lead 3-1-1 no second server second server two.

Four one two point nice driving by jan bev did the impressive dinking and jan decided to speed up the match a little bit get aggressive i was able to put that one away 5-1-2 off to an early 5-1 lead.

Not from the team that just lost the previous two games point make that six to one so impressive start for evan jan six one two and sandy are wondering what the heck's going on here we just beat these guys two straight two now we're down 7-1 in.

The game to 15 for the gold medal nice love by cheryl good recovery by bev paul's called out side out side out impressive run up seven points in a row i believe it was one seven one second server nice backhand put away by jan dwan from kelowna.

172. and another put away side out dev with a couple of drives that kept sheryl deep until cheryl popped one up and her partner jan put it away 7-1-1 one potential serve and point away from switching ends in this game to 15 where they'll switch ends at eight.

Second server seven one two sorry duke one seven one dan tries a bit of a windmill overhead and unfortunately hits it into the two seven one two serving seven.

Nice drive down the middle by jan second server 272. oh nicely done great patience by bev waited for it to bounce bounce was high enough that she could put it away by driving it down the middle seven two one.

Nice playing by john three or four hits in a row the score is eight two one change sides so in this final game to 15 we switch sides at eight which we've just you have one minute team in black the team of bev tulsan from regina and jan doan from kelowna have eight points.

The two ladies from saskatoon cheryl lens and sandy friesen have two points you've just joined us we played a best of best two out of three match prior to this and the two ladies from saskatoon won both of those games they came from the b.

Side so that's resulted in us having to play a third game this one a game to 15 winner take all the winners go home with the gold medal and the losers go home with the silver after losing the first two games bev and.

Jan 15 seconds found something within and they're fighting back now have an 8-2 lead here in this final game the gold medal game time in yes you are john asking if she's the right server.

Referee from winnipeg second server i think she hit it before he's finished calling the score i'm not 100 sure that's what it looked like because she wasn't the wrong server she wasn't in the wrong court you have to you have to wait until the.

Referee has completed calling the score before you serve 281 interesting mistake hopefully it doesn't come back to hurt them impressive defense by the ladies from saskatoon let's keep popping it up.

Now they're on the offensive yeah nice point nice job of playing defense until you can transition into the up to the non-volley zone and then you can start playing offense well displayed there by the two ladies from saskatoon.

Create one impressive overnight match by sandy friesen from saskatoon four eight one second server cheryl lens is like a back catcher back there just nothing's going to get by her she's going to you hit it at her it's going to be like a world that.

Ball's going to come back i don't know if she's trying to body shop there on jen but if she was she missed and the ball went out and long eight four one ladies and gentlemen clawed back from eight two eight four team in black nice work done drive down the middle by.

Jan and juan from kelowna nine four one second server really nice effective what i call an aggressive lob or offensive lob second server over.

Half tallest nine four two not much bef could do there oh sure it's almost all of them back but that one she wasn't able to get over point to the team in black 10-42 yes i'm going to sound like a broken record record.

But sheryl lens is just like a wall you hit it against the wall it's going to bounce back to you she did that enough times that eventually it turned into their favorite one and the team in black eventually hit one into the net but they're still down ten to four second server that went into the net now.

We're second server sandy that's called the marshall curse when you compliment somebody so much that you make a silly mistake sorry cheryl 10-4-1 whoa that one got up a little bit high sandy frieza said not on my watch and she put it away 10 42 ten serving four.

Game to fifteen here we are in the gold medal final side out 4 10 1. second server just out 4 10 2. it's pretty easy when you can play it.

From a foot away from the net so sandy friesen had no problem putting that one away five ten two impressive rally finished off by cheryl ends clawing their way back to 6-10 you got two six ten.

Two both teams have two timeouts remaining you heard them both ask referee jim mitchell six ten two six serving ten seven ten two one minute uh today.

15 seconds you guys have two timeouts left you guys have one timeout left time in 7 10 two ladies from saskatoon on their way back from i think it was 10 to 4 or 10 to 2 at one point now it's 10 to 7.

Dress code ten seven one a little bit long second server sorry folks i had to go to his good deed for the day and retrieve the ball for the ladies wow impressive shot down the line by bev point.

Eleven seven two eleven serving seven look at that well one too many times charges going down the line this one a little bit wide seven eleven one wow impressive defense oh cheryl gets a little bit of help from.

The top of the net point to the latest from saskatoon i believe it's eight seven eleven eight eleven one point both teams getting a little excited they're uh they're both feeling it they're both feeling like this is the.

Game they want if you want the gold medal this is the game you got to have 9-11-1 second server 9 11 2. still anybody's game here at 11 9 11 9 1 11 9 1.

and the ball stays there point to the team in black twelve serving nine potentially three points away from a gold medal bang bang play results in tani friesen hitting the ball into the net i'm out calling this gold.

Receiving team the score is 13.91 you have one minute i believe both teams have used one of their two timeouts so at 13 to 9 we can expect it there'll probably be at least one more time out called in this game at this stage in a tournament at this.

Stage of the day late in the day teams are taking timeouts partly because they're tired and they want to drink but most often in pickleball timeouts are called to try to stem and stop the momentum of the other team that's why they're typically called by the team that just lost the point or just lost a rally.

In this case it was the team from saskatoon they called the timeout when we resume it'll be 13 to 9 for 15 minutes black bev tolson from regina and jan doan from kelowna playing against sandy ends sorry cheryl enz and sandy friesen.

Both from saskatoon time in you each have one timeout left 1391 before drives it down the middle gets them to within one point time out and as marshall predicted we have another timeout 1491 at 14.91 saskatoon out of town outs.

And they don't have much room for error their backs are against the wall down 14 to 9. here in the gold medal final ladies doubles 3.5 age 60 years of age and up you have no timeouts left you have one timeout left time.

Bev and jan working on the edge 14 9-1 on the edge of being gold medalists on the precipice so to speak and they're over 50 gold medal points game and match gold medal winners so as you heard jim mitchellock say the.

Gold medal goes to the team in black okay def tolleson jan dward bev from regina jan from kelowna the gold medalists that's correct very well game very well played game by.

Cheryl lenz and sandy friesen both from saskatoon thanks to jim mitchulec from winnipeg our referee thank you for watching hope you enjoyed it thanks there you it go be my last.

Patio like this fella whose charm runs absolutely rampant on the patio and yep he secures it once again yes patioers the bp patio is back so.

Boston pizza is where those in the know patio like this fella whose charm runs absolutely rampant on the patio and yep he secures it once again yes patioers the bp patio is back hello everyone my name is steve deakin i'm a professional pickleball player that competes on the ppa tour i am pickleball canada's international.

Ambassador and i found this incredible sport back in 2017 i had a professional tennis background and i had a shoulder injury and one day while i was rehabbing the shoulder my dad came to me and said hey there's this incredible sport called pickleball why don't we come on down to the rec center and you can try this out.

And i said this sounds like a great idea i went down to the rec center and i started playing with one of the old uh wooden paddles and i took a love to the sport uh immediately um i had a ton of fun with it but.

I was playing tennis on a pickleball court so i was hitting every single ball as hard as i can and i even tried to serve overhand but i was schooled pretty quickly with some basic rules about what i could and could not do on a pickleball court and one of those things was i had to.

Serve underhanded and this was a really strange one too after somebody returns the serve to me i can't hit that ball in the air i gotta let that ball bounce for the third shot and then one thing i had a really really tough time with because in tennis.

I was always closing off the net so the one thing i had a hard time with was this thing called the kitchen and i was like what the heck is that the kitchen is a spot where i cannot go into and hit the ball in the air i have to let the ball bounce in the kitchen before i make contact with it so i had such a a great time.

I made so many new friends and i'm just so grateful to be part of the growth of the sport in canada and i'm hoping to get back on tour again and and play in in the middle of august but until until then i wish you all good luck on the courts and i had a great time here at the.

Canadian western regionals around please my name is bruce eben i'll be your referee today okay and we have gay harris and brenda howard luck and which one's the starting server okay thank you very much and we have.

Dina and carolyn you should have heard me say now well i won't even ask how to pronounce that but well i was going to look at that because okay anyways this match is a gold medal match of course and uh best two out of three to eleven and you.

Must win by two points you have two timeouts per game okay my job is to uh watch the serving faults the non-volley zone faults all the other line calls please be loud and clear and i'd like to check your paddles please thank you thank you.

Thank you very much now we'll get uh gay to pick a number one or two it is a one serve receive end or yeah no problem how much time do you need ladies yeah a couple of it yeah you're around the way from.

Where you from colorado yeah we'll give it a comment to the enders uh yeah you're over you're over here what'd you do with the ball british columbia give me a couple of minutes ladies okay.

I'm ready yep no problem thanks my door okay come on one minute if you want to do some uh serving sorry 7. foreign.

15 seconds ladies welcome back we're getting ready to start our gold medal game women's doubles 4.0 age 12 years of age and up these ladies are not teenagers but they're playing in the open division so this is the best players at the 4.0.

Level regardless of age in the far court in pink shirt and pink bottom are dina mannell who's from weyburn wearing the pink top and the white top is carolyn sanders who i believe is from colorado's ready ready at the bottom we've got two ladies.

From alberta we have gay and brenda okay indiana and carolyn this is game one time in zero zero two okay harris with the grayish top it's from cold cold lake alberta and brenda harluck in the white top is from spruce grove alberta.

Talented ladies at the 4.0 level playing for gold shout out with the side out ball goes to the ladies in pink pink and white zero zero one point dino manila with two impressive drives the first one returned the second one not one zero one.

That looks like the two ladies in pink oh we have a bit of distraction on the side is amends singles seconds results in somebody taking a bit of a tumble one zero two driving the ball again this time her second one into the net.

Side out zero one one brenda to serve we'll call them team alberta since once we get lake alberta and the other one is from spruce grove alberta our referee bruce ebern is from pitt meadows british columbia point nice cross-court dinking.

Okay gets the first point 1-1 for team alberta bye nice lob nice put away i will mention that gay and brenda in the foreground here in the gray and black and white are what we call the a-side people they i believe were undefeated.

Whereas deanna and two-on-one dina and carolyn on the far at the top of the screen are the b-side winners so if by chance they win this best two out of three match it would force a third or fourth game to 15 to the gold medal.

One serving two point dina likes to drive the ball that time she successfully drove it into her opponent's midsection two two one forced the ball to be hit out of bounds i didn't see it.

Called out second serve all was called out the team appealed to the referee who can't always see those things because his focus is and i'm a referee as well his focus is on the non-volley zone looking for footfalls and things like that.

Does it put away attempt a little bit to the left i'd like to have that one over again three two two point again dina likes to drive the ball drove that one forced your opponent to hit the ball long four two two.

Four serving two there's this accessible put away attempt by brenda harluck from spruce grove alberta 241 drive of her own and another drive point i'm watching your feet i'm not watching.

Point again you heard a bit of an exchange there the ball was called 3-4-1 uh the team at the top of the screen appealed to the referee and the referee says second serve rightfully so i i didn't see the ball because i'm focusing on where your feet are that's the job of the referee before it falls if by chance the rest of the play allows.

Him to look to see whether the ball is in or out he can overrule a call but bruce didn't see it so he couldn't call it 442 no 442 receiver with a second call to allow.

Both teams to adjust to being in the right spot nice quiet dinking going on here point each team waiting for the other to get the ball up but just a little bit high so that they can go on the attack five four two close game so far five serving four.

Point make that six four six four two okay harris from fold lake alberta serving tries a lob there's another lob another lob some good defense being played here by the team from alberta.

And just out side out four six one oh bit fortunate there it all hit the top of the net trickled over second serve four six two sometimes you're fortunate and it dribbles over and sometimes you're not.

And it stays on your side of the court side out tina likes to drive the ball that time they let it go by and it was out six four one point good soft play by gay harris from cold lake so it's in a point for saint air for uh one.

Seven seven four this in the first game of the gold medal final second serve 7.2 lob i can't was blocked by her called out side out always called out team from alberta challenged.

With the referee bruce ebern from pitt meadows british columbia 471 at his view blocked so he couldn't overturn the call point 571 point try the angle shot but just a little bit.

Strong the ball went out the side six seven one six serving seven second serve nice shot by brenda to keep the ball into the feet six seven two carolyn sanders carolyn could not return it nice angle on that shot good defense by dina.

Body shot oh she was able to get it back point and the ball was in no hit hit the paddle and then yeah i thought the same thing i thought it hit part of her midsection but i think it did hit part of the paddle so i think no she's not it's considered a uh a legal hit if it hits the paddle at all.

You have seven points players that's correct players trying to clarify whether given the score which is seven seven backhand put away attempt forehand put away attempt that out actually they got one of them to.

Force a mistake on the other side 771 good close game here as we're tied at seven here in game number one of the gold medal final women's 4.0 open age bracket second sir seven seven two side out third truck drop attempt just a.

Little bit short side out i think we're still tied at sevens seven seven one serve of looks like the ladies from st from alberta have watched dina play before they know she likes to drive the ball.

Not always going to be in so they've let a couple of these go live which might make her a little bit gun shy we'll see as we watch this match sometimes when you hit a couple out the back it causes you to think twice about putting another hard one dina likes to drive the ball.

Seven seven one let's face it we all like to drive the ball we just can't all do it as effectively as she does second serve okay tries the third shot drop just a little bit short 772 side out give her three cracks at it but finally carolyn sanders from colorado.

Put that one away still tied at seven side out seven seven one point there's that successful dina drive first team to get to eight points playing this one eight seven one got to win by two dessert nicely second serve.

Right down the middle inside the back line at least that's what i call it when i'm sorry 972 somebody can't return it i call it a free point sign out 791 second serve 792.

Sign out timeouts been called by the receiving team nine seven one one minute nearing the end of our first game of a best two out of three.

Once again team in black and white gil gay harris and brenda harlock both from alberta are considered the a side participants so they just have to win two of these first three games to be gold medal champions on the other hand dina and carolyn.

Two ladies wearing pink on a pink top one pink uh skirt or skort they are the b-side participants so if they were successfully win two of these first three games then they will force a deciding game to receiving team has one timeout left for the fill up both your timeouts.

Ladies serving side bruce ebert from pitt meadows british columbia confirms that they've each got one left 9-7-1 9-7 nice work from carolyn sanders.

I think she hit every ball in that particular rally and she eventually found a hole in the middle and put it down the middle yes 10-7-1 potential game point point game switch ends two minutes deena decides to take matters into her own hands and puts it on by her way by herself so game.

Number one to dina manil from wavern and carolyn sanders from colorado they'll take two minutes we'll go find out what bruce zebra and our referee is laughing at time we might have to give a language warning to uh bruce ebert if i heard the little.

Mumble under his breath i'll go give him a technical warning before we get started that coming from somebody that's never sworn in their entire life right i believe this is going to be the final match that we broadcast today you guys ready for that matter this weekend hey you're serving now for those of you.

That have watched some or all of it good thank you for watching hope you enjoyed it okay they are ready to go too i've enjoyed doing it but i'm looking forward to being done so that's good go home and have a beverage okay this is game number two watch the ryder.

Game two time zen zero zero two oh there's a put away find out gary harris says enough of that nice reality leading up to that but zero zero what can you put that ball away good leader second serve good lead ball just out zero zero two.

Sign out some nice drives from the far side but ina did a good job of playing those as volleys as opposed to letting them land zero zero one finally their opponents it went into the net point nice sort of half overhead smash by dina manil point to the team in pink.

101 second serve nice put away by brenda harlock from spruce grove alberta i didn't see how close to the line it was but it had to be pretty close you have one point she is a correct server yes yep one zero two.

Point two zero two point i think gabe would have liked to have that one over again it was in the greens but i think she let it drop into the yellow zone before she took a whack at it and as a result hit it into the net.

Good defense in the foreground here eventually gabe puts one away side up 031 point one three one second serve one three two.

Wow impressive defense and the ball stays inside out pretty talented ladies playing here i hope you're enjoying the action title lightning fast reflexes waiting for the other team to make a mistake and go on the attack 3-1 and once you go on the attack it turns 3-1-1 turns into a bit of a gunfight.

Point another what i call free point four one one point timeout's been called by the receiving team five one one one minute first time out called i believe in this second game each team gets two one in one minute timeouts per game.

No i'm watching it yeah i'm not sure if you were able to pick it up but brenda walked over to the referee and said is there anything illegal about her serve and bruce says i'm watching it now what he means by illegal for those of.

You that are kind of new to the game you have to serve on an upward motion you have to make sure that the your wrist is higher than the top of your paddle when you hit the ball so it prevents people from hitting overheads it prevents people from people preventing side arm 15 seconds people.

From using too much topspin so uh it is something that we as referees look for yeah one time all remaining for this game you have both your timeouts remaining for this game time is in we watched some circles.

Excuse me they watch them served when they warm up and then throughout the game we watch second serve 512. got a perfect lob attempt or not attempt perfect lob successfully over her head and landing six one two inside the back.

Line that attempt that lab didn't work very well as brenda did a great job of putting a backhand smash away one six one one serving six here we are in game two gold medal final hits it into the net.

Returning at an overhead smash or not returning hitting an overhead smash is really easy except for the one thing there's a net there so you got to make sure you hit it over the net and you got to make sure it's second serve it comes down before the end of.

The the court what i'm trying to say is it's tougher to do than it looks like 262 27 nice defense being played by the ladies from alberta but eventually the team in pink prevails.

621 632 off the top of the net but enough time to adjust we've got the soft game going on one team waiting for the other to make a mistake leave the ball up just a little bit second serve.

Six two two point and that ball in gay decides to let it go by thinking it might be long but i think it snuck inside that back line or on the back line up to see from my van 722 obviously the ball was called in.

Side out nice backhand smash by gay dean is not able to return it two seven one point ball called out point for the ladies from from alberta three seven one point impressive smashes by brenda harluck.

From spruce grove of alberta team from alberta claw on their way back in this second game four seven one four serving seven all hit the top of the net but still landed in the courts so it's considered a legal serve this ball looks like it's out second.

Serve 472 point gate takes advantage of that meatball and decides i'm gonna put that one away five seven two side out seven five one point tina driving the ball a couple of.

Times into the body of of gay okay got the first one back with the second one into the next five one eight serving five again we're in game number two of this best two out of three gold medal final point dina pushing the pace a little bit driving the ball.

Nine five one point who's in sir very close to the line 10-5-1 ladies from alberta challenged the call and the referee said it was in second serve 10-5-2 potential game-winning point nice drive down the middle.

Carolyn sanders from colorado and match we got definitely one more to 15 now okay yeah so the team of dina and carolyn wins two games straight but you're allowed to ten minute break okay yeah that's right so one game to 15.

And uh but you're allowed a 10-minute break up do you want to take a break yeah we'll do the whole system again like you know okay but before thanksgiving ladies this week do the homework on this uh let's see you after you get take your 10.

Minute break i just want to talk to them thank you you you're allowed up to a 10-minute break if you want to go sooner it's up to make sure everybody's playing and everybody wants to do that right so i had but you're up to up to 10 minutes that's what i was saying so we had 11 uh.

Seven that's correct and eleven five so we'll come back when they're ready to resume we have to do this all drawing over thing again you know it's like that's a big pencil so yeah what's wrong if i get bad hands that's my problem thank you very much congratulations up to a ten minute break okay.

Boston pizza is where those in the know patio like this fella whose charm runs absolutely rampant on the patio and yep he secures it once again yes patioers the bp patio is back be patient yeah really.

Well they're allowed up to 10. they're ready to go but they just needed a pee break and a water break so is that all it is oh but i feel pretty good right now i'm surprised that you know the more i move around is better it is anyways.

I would love to but uh my dancing days are over well that's that's two games two matches in a row we had to go on to the extra game what was it oh yeah yeah yeah that was roger did uh.

No oh roger carrier he's going to edmonton right yeah he's not going to be in red deer i know he might be in right there he's not sure he was you know he did oh i talked to him i wasn't sure i'll take him tonight we're going to come tonight.

Okay thanks for coming tonight oh oh so can people watch replays of the game that they're in like in the future we're going to play the yeah.

Guess what no but let's say i was playing in one of these games i'm waiting for you to get them going well they're about 10 minutes that's a problem oh i gave you a language warning by the way really was i swearing at somebody well you mumbled the word half the f word.

Under your breath and and i could hear it through my headphones and i went i think i better go give bruce a a verbal warning for language what was that i remember that just somewhere around the middle of the two games oh really nobody heard it except.

i just have a so there's your official yeah verbal warning are those my keys that you took out of the okay i don't i'm not gonna take it out i took everything so this is that yeah i'm thinking.

It's good thanks no problem i don't know if they'll want to look better than you wanna look at it anybody i'm sure there'll be people asking pickleball well that's what i mean if you could pass that they could say.

Maybe suggest they put something on their website if you're saying anybody that wants the top make that suggestion okay ladies ready to go first team to 100 wins first team to 100 wins yeah really.

It's a tie breaker to 100. i just looked at this whole drill again so i get a brand new game where did gay get to oh there she's hiding behind the fence over there i've been here i have no idea are you one of these everybody sure that does feel good hey we were.

Just talking your um you might want to put something on the pitbull website yeah really that he wants you know an uploaded copy of it okay ladies this is one game to 15. and we were switching ends after eight and a half by two yeah i told him i'm the wrong guy to talk to.

But anyways uh again good luck to both of you yeah and somebody forgot to uh put a number on the back of this so i'm gonna just take a guess you want to serve.

Or with this side okay yeah okay all right we're getting ready to play the final game of this entire weekend the gold medal final women's 4.0 open age division we've got in pink at the top of the screen dina manil from weber in saskatchewan and carolyn sanders from colorado.

Playing against two ladies from alberta gay with the kind of grayish top gay harris from cold lake alberta brenda harold luck you guys ready to go in the white top from spruce grove of alberta our referee is ready i'll call him bruce almighty it's bruce ready.

Switching ends after eight time in zero zero two sorry pit meadows british columbia and we're off game to 15 gotta win by two we will switch sides at eight point first point of the match goes to alberta.

One zero two point and carolyn would love to have that one over again but that's how the pictures point as you see with high level players like these four ladies are the the ball usually gets played fairly softly until it gets up just a little bit too high.

And then bang somebody goes on attack and that's usually where the point ends side out bit of a fortunate break for dina her drive hit the top of the net and kind of trickled over so throws off the timing of the opposing team zero three one ended with a nice drive but.

Gabe was up to the task on it kept it in play and dean hit the next one out we were talking earlier in the program how dina likes to drive the ball the alberta league three two we're letting a few of them go by and going out the back so dina i think she stopped at least she reduced the number of times.

She was trying to drive the ball one three two wow very nice side out gay hits an angle shot taking carolyn off the court and then brenda finishes by putting it in the hole vacated 3-1-1.

By where carolyn was second serve four gold three one two three serving one okay tries the lob side out one three one second serve tina tries driving it but that one hit.

The top of the net dropped on her seven three two one serving three second serve gate is playing great defense point but couldn't hang in there long enough to win the point so point goes to the ladies of pink two three two nice.

Nice spot to put it kind of a misdirection shot down the line to dina's backhand three two one always probably going out but carolyn kept it in play it was in.

Point all was called out ladies challenged bruce eberton says no that ball was in four two one second serve tina did a good job of keeping her opponents deep eventually they hit one into the net four two two oh great speed getting back there oh.

out tina pretty happy with herself as she should be she raced back to the back of the court kept the ball in play causing gay to hit one into the net sometimes when you see your opponent make a remarkable play like that you relax a bit and you make a silly mistake gabe would love to have that one back.

Again second serve two four two carolyn loved that one back again that was a would look like a fairly easy put away but 4-2-1 some
