It's the hottest sport in the USA pickleball now some are wondering can pickleball bring new life to America's ailing shopping malls in their Heyday in the 1980s there were 2500 indoor shopping centers in America today it's about 700. that number could fall to 150 in the next 10 years.

Now pickleball America is building a 28 Court complex at the Stamford Town Center Mall in Connecticut it used to be the site of a Saks OFF Fifth department store pickleball America owner Jay Waldner says pickleball at the mall could attract half a million players a year or more who could also shop at the stores and the mall just needed a little.

Bit of a boost so with the idea of the space it was a perfect fit I don't think we're going to necessarily see malls turning into just giant indoor pickleball courts think that it's a step in the right direction
Malls are hoping to capitalize on the nation’s estimated nine-million pickleball players. It’s estimated that the number of malls in the U.S. fell from 2,500 in the 1980s to about 700 today. Jay Waldner, the owner of Pickleball America, thinks pickleball at malls could attract upwards of half-a-million players in a year.
